During an interview from 11:10 on Channels Television on Friday, July 31, 2026, Tonye Cole, a member of the APC and the party’s 2023 governorship candidate in Rivers State, reflected on the political atmosphere in Rivers State and how relations among politicians have evolved over the years.
Cole said the level of hostility between members of different political parties in the state was once so intense that public interactions across party lines were discouraged. He noted that the situation has improved, with politicians from opposing camps now able to engage in dialogue despite their political differences.
