In a recent video from 41:28 on YouTube, Senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has shared a personal testimony about what he described as an extraordinary divine promise that transformed his expectations from modest beginnings to large-scale fulfillment.

Speaking during a sermon, Adeboye recounted how he once approached God with a simple request for a personal home. However, he said the response he received went far beyond his initial prayer.

“I said, ‘Father, please build me a house,’” Adeboye told the congregation. “He said, ‘Don’t ask for a house. I have decided to build you a city.’

The statement, he explained, was difficult for others to accept at the time. According to him, when he shared the revelation with people around him, it was met with disbelief and even ridicule.

“When I told my people, they laughed,” he said, reflecting on the skepticism that greeted the claim.

Despite the reaction, Adeboye said the promise eventually materialized over time, evolving into what is now widely known as the Redeemed camp—a large settlement that has grown into a significant religious and residential community.

“There is a city in Nigeria,” he said. “A city where water does not go dry, a city where the light is on 24/7.”

He further described the environment as one of safety and spiritual activity, noting that residents are able to move freely even at night. “We walk about in the night praying,” he added, emphasizing the sense of security and devotion within the community.

Adeboye presented the testimony as an example of how divine plans can exceed human expectations, encouraging believers to trust in possibilities beyond their immediate understanding.

The account resonated with worshippers, many of whom viewed it as a message about patience, faith, and the potential for long-term fulfillment of seemingly improbable promises.
