Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has revealed that she endured a 13-year-long health battle involving a brain tumour, spleen complications, heart-related problems, and chronic bleeding. Speaking in an exclusive interview from 08:38 on Channels Television, Halima said the ordeal left her unable to sleep without medication for seven years.
She disclosed that she needed 52 million naira for an MRI and surgery, a sum she struggled to raise while being too sick to work consistently. “This is somebody who has been sick for almost 10 years. And I was struggling for so long. It has been a very, very long journey for me,” she said.
Halima explained that the brain tumour caused vibrating sensations in her head and fixed staring episodes. Even simple thinking became painful. “I couldn’t do that because if I do that, my brain is going to alert me. It will vibrate. I am like, no, this is not normal.”
