In a recent interview from 14:47 shared by Arise News, Grand Patron of the Ijaw Youth Council and Executive Chairman of Eselemo Holdings, Collins Eselemo, weighed in on the growing insecurity across Nigeria, drawing attention to regional differences in the crisis.
According to him, “Nigerians have not taken cognizance of the fact that what is happening in the North does not occur in the Niger Delta.” His remarks come amid renewed concerns over violent attacks, kidnappings, and killings in several northern states, which have continued to raise alarm among citizens and security stakeholders.
Eselemo argued that the relative peace in the Niger Delta did not happen by chance, but through deliberate efforts by stakeholders within the region to protect critical infrastructure and maintain stability. He suggested that local vigilance, community involvement, and strategic security arrangements have played key roles in preventing the level of violence seen in other parts of the country.
He further emphasized the need for other regions to study and possibly adopt similar approaches tailored to their unique circumstances.
