General Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd) has spoken about the attack by terrorists on the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) in Monguno, Borno State.
Speaking in an interview from 6:37 with Channels Television, General Usman said security forces acted quickly and stopped the terrorists before they could carry out a mass abduction of the students at the school. He stated that the military not only rescued those at the facility but also dealt decisively with the attackers.
General Usman said many of the terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds during the operation. He also stated that there were reported collateral damages caused by the terrorists’ gunfire.
General Usman described the successful operation as heartwarming and said he hopes to see more of such proactive and successful responses from security forces.
In General Usman’s words: “They proactively preempted the terrorists and not only rescued the people, they were able to deal decisively with them. But unfortunately many of them have escaped with gunshot wounds, and off course there were reported collateral damages created by the gunfire of the Boko Haram terrorists.
