According to Divine Encounter Tv on Monday, June 1st 2026, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has recounted the story of a school principal in Edo State whose life reportedly changed dramatically after years of remaining unmarried despite being successful, educated and well respected.
Speaking from 06:41 during a sermon on God’s power to transform difficult situations, Adeboye told worshippers that the man was already well over 50 years old but had never been able to summon the courage to propose marriage to any woman.
According to the cleric, the principal was handsome, highly educated and held a respected position as the head of a school, yet he remained single for decades.
“There was there a man who was the principal of a school. He was over 50 years old. I can’t remember exactly now, but I know he was well over 50,” Adeboye said.
He explained that whenever the principal developed interest in a female teacher, he would invite her to his office intending to propose. However, when she arrived, he would become nervous and abandon the idea.
“Many times this man will say to one of the teachers, one of the school mistresses, ‘I want you to come and see me in the office,’” he said.
“The lady comes to the office and he would end up asking, ‘How is your class doing? I hope you have no problems at all.’”
Adeboye said the turning point came during an RCCG programme held in Edo State, where the man experienced what he described as divine intervention.
“Then we went to hold a programme in that area and the Almighty God visited him. God remembered him,” the pastor said.
The cleric added that events moved quickly after that encounter.
“To cut a long story short, six months later, he was married. Within a year, he had a first set of twins. Two years later, another set of twins,” Adeboye recounted.
