According to a video from 22:34 posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Monday, July 13, 2026, Executive Director of Development Specs Academy, Professor Okey Ikechukwu, shared his thoughts on the political dynamics ahead of the 2027 general election, particularly regarding the chances of NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

While discussing the political landscape, Professor Ikechukwu argued that Peter Obi could face significant challenges from within the Southeast, despite the region being widely regarded as his political stronghold. He suggested that the actions and interests of some political leaders in the zone could influence the outcome of future elections.
