During an interview from 14:00 on Channels Television on Monday, July 13, 2026, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, who represents Oyo North Senatorial District, recounted a conversation he had with the husband of one of the abducted victims shortly before the captives were rescued.
The senator said the principal’s husband, Professor Alamu, visited him on the same Friday the victims were eventually released. Buhari explained that the professor had become overwhelmed by conflicting reports circulating about the fate of the abductees and sought reassurance from him.
According to him, “Let me make you laugh. On Friday, when they released them, he came to my house. When he came, he sent me a text in the morning, and I told him I would be in Ogbomosho. He came to my house; we were gisting. He said, ‘Tell me the truth, have they been killed because we are reading different things?’ I said, ‘No, if they’ve been killed, look at the man that was beheaded and the two of them that were shot. Nobody could hide it. Death is not something anybody will hide.’”
Buhari said he assured Professor Alamu that there was no credible information suggesting the victims had been killed. He explained that he encouraged him to remain hopeful, noting that news of such a tragedy could not have been concealed if it had occurred….See More
