The husband of Mrs. Folawe Alamu, one of the teachers recently rescued from captivity in Oyo State, on Sunday joined family members, church leaders and well-wishers in a thanksgiving service to celebrate her safe return.
The update was shared on X by the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare.
Mrs. Alamu, the Principal of Community High School, Orire Esiele, was among the teachers rescued by Nigerian security forces on Friday alongside students who had been abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
According to Sunday Dare, Professor Alamu was present during the family’s thanksgiving service held at Okelerin Baptist Church in Ogbomoso to express gratitude for his wife’s safe rescue.
“Professor Alamu, husband of the just rescued Principal of Community High School, Orire Esiele, during the family’s thanksgiving service at Okelerin Baptist Church in Ogbomoso today,” Dare wrote while sharing photographs from the event.
He also disclosed that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) organised a thanksgiving service at First Baptist Church, Okelerin, Ogbomoso, where prayers of gratitude were offered for the safe return of the rescued teachers and students.
The thanksgiving service drew members of the church, community leaders and other residents who gathered to celebrate the successful rescue operation.
