The abduction involved 46 pupils, teachers, and the school principal, who were taken by bandits before a coordinated rescue operation was launched.
Speaking during an interview from 12:53 on TVC News, on Friday, 10 July, 2026, while reacting to the outcome of the operation, Adebayo praised the efforts of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Armed Forces, and other security agencies involved in securing the victims’ freedom.
Adebayo said, “The information I have is that all were rescued except the one person that was killed.”
