Nigerian comedian DeeOne has admitted that he set a trap for popular social media influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM) using media personality Nedu. In a recent interview with TVC News from 1.09, DeeOne explained that he carefully planned everything to expose what he believes is VDM’s habit of jumping to conclusions and misleading Nigerians.
According to DeeOne, he had been studying VDM for 18 months and wanted to test whether he was truly honest or just someone who quickly accuses people without proper evidence. To do this, he needed a big platform, so he used Nedu’s podcast to set the stage. DeeOne revealed that Nedu had no idea about the plan, as he feared Nedu might warn VDM if he knew.
“I used Nedu as the hook to get the fish, and it worked perfectly,” DeeOne said. He explained that his plan successfully made VDM react by accusing different people without enough proof. He also pointed out how VDM had previously accused a bank of taking 500 million naira but later went silent on the issue without a proper apology.
DeeOne admitted that he felt bad for Nedu after seeing the backlash he received. He even pleaded with Nigerians not to let Nedu lose his job because of a situation Nedu wasn’t aware of.
