Shehu Sani, a former Senator, has reacted after hearing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be receiving a bill proposing a return to a regional system of government in Nigeria this week.

According to reports, a bill proposing a return to a regional system of government in Nigeria is set to be sent to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu this week. The bill seeks to establish a federal and regional government structure, recognizing the right to self-determination for ethnic nationalities and their ability to establish governments within their territories.

Following the reports, Shehu Sani responded to the news on Sunday via his official X handle. In his post, he warned the National Assembly not to rush into forcing a regional government on Nigerians without enough consultation or public hearings, as they did while enacting the national anthem bill.
