The spokesperson for the Governor of Kano State, Sanusi Bature, has stated that it is surprising to see Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso allegedly seeking a political alliance with Peter Obi after previously criticizing him.

Speaking during an interview from 8:50 on Arise News, Bature recalled past comments reportedly made by Kwankwaso, where he claimed to be more politically experienced than Obi and also suggested that Obi was merely being viewed as a “Biafra agent” by some political observers.

Bature expressed surprise that the same Kwankwaso is now being linked with discussions of becoming Obi’s possible vice-presidential candidate ahead of future political alignments.

According to him, mentioning Peter Obi in Kano political discussions often generates mixed reactions among residents of the state. He noted that many people in Kano are still shocked by the rumored partnership because of Kwankwaso’s previous remarks about the former Labour Party presidential candidate.

In his words:

“For us, when you mention Obi in Kano, it is actually strange news, and many people are surprised that the same Kwankwaso who said he has a PhD while Obi has just an undergraduate degree. The same Kwankwaso who said he is more experienced politically than Obi, and the same Kwankwaso who has seen Obi as just a Biafra agent, is now craving for him to be Vice president to Obi.”

Bature further stated that many Kano residents may not support a political ticket involving Peter Obi and Kwankwaso. According to him, the alliance does not reflect the kind of political direction many supporters associate with Kwankwaso.

He added:

“Kano people cannot accept this partnership because this is not really the Kwankwaso we know. Kwankwaso is someone people believe should focus on contributing meaningfully to the development of the country.”….Read_More…
