There have been several reactions after Bayo Onanuga shared a documentary that renowned singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu made about Nigeria in 1984.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy revisited the video after the report of the death of the singer surfaced online.

According to Punch, Onyeka Onwenu died at the age of 72 shortly after performing at the birthday celebration of Mrs. Stella Okoli. The report further stated that she was confirmed dead at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos after she slumped at the birthday party where she performed.

However, Bayo Onanuga has now revisited the documentary that Onyeka Onwenu made about Nigeria titled, “Nigeria A Squandering Of Riches”. After he shared the video, he said he remembers her more for the documentary.

Here is what Bayo Onanuga wrote on his official X handle;

“I remember Onyeka Onwenu more for this documentary on the Nigerian situation. It was aired in 1984. May her soul rest in Peace”.
