According to the report from the Vanguard, the Igboezue International Association Nigeria and the Diaspora, IIAND issued a strong warning to President Tinubu and the Lagos State government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, regarding the escalating tensions fueled by the “Igbos must go” campaign initiated by some disgruntled elders and youth in Lagos State.

The group cautioned that there would be consequences if the situation were not addressed, using the proverb, “The man who brings home ant-ridden faggots must be ready for the visit of the lizard.”

Emphasizing their Nigerian identity, the group declared that the Igbo people would not be intimidated into leaving any part of the country, asserting that they were as Nigerian as any other tribe and would not abandon their homeland out of fear or pressure.

We want to tell them that we are Igbo, and we will never run away for any tribe in Nigeria. We are even more Nigerian than any other tribe in Nigeria, whoever that is telling us to go or leave any part of Nigeria, must go or leave first.
