Public Affairs Analyst, Emperor Jackson Ojo, has cautioned that any attack on former Anambra State Governor and 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi could provoke widespread public unrest, warning that his supporters across the country may not remain calm if such an incident were to occur.

Speaking during an interview from 4:06 on Signature TV, on Saturday, 11 July, 2026, Ojo continued to express concern over the need for adequate security for political leaders, particularly those contesting for the nation’s highest office. He stressed that authorities should not ignore concerns relating to the safety of prominent politicians ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to Ojo, “God forbid, if anything eventually happens to that man, are you sure his supporters across the country will take it lightly.”

The analyst said the statement underscores the importance of proactive security measures to prevent any incident capable of heightening political tensions. He argued that ensuring the safety of all presidential candidates is critical to preserving peace and maintaining confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
