Udenta O. Udenta, Director with the Centre for Alternative Policy Perspectives and Strategy (CAPPS), Abuja, has given his take on the gale of defections recently witnessed in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In recent times, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has received a huge blow of defection, as prominent members of the party, including Peter Mbah, governor of Enugu State, decamp to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

However, during an interview with Arise News from 13:12, Professor Udenta O. Udenta stated that governors in the People’s Democratic Party PDP defecting to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) don’t have enough courage to stand up to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He cited Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, as an instance, revealing that the governor had received the vice president of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, a few days ago, and yet he retained his membership in the People’s Democratic Party PDP and refused to decamp.
