According to a recent report by Sahara TV, a heart-wrenching video has surfaced online from 0:56, showing a tearful appeal from a young woman from Rivers State whose mother and younger brother have allegedly been imprisoned for nine years over accusations of theft involving a former First Lady, Patience Jonathan.
In the video, the woman alleges that her mother was wrongly accused of stealing gold and money, even after the actual culprit had reportedly been identified. “Madam knew my mother was innocent,” she said, “but she still carried her away.”
She further claims that the former First Lady offered her mother a chance to regain her freedom, if only she would admit to the crime. “She told my mother to accept that she stole the items and she would be released,” the woman recalled. “But my mother refused because she didn’t do it.”
The emotional toll has devastated the family. “My grandmother is sick, my elder sister died of hunger, and my younger brother is rotting in prison for no reason,” she lamented.
The family says they have exhausted all options, selling land for legal fees, seeking help from different quarters—with no progress. Their only plea now is for their mother and brother to be freed.
“This family is tired. We don’t want to fight, we just want our mother and brother back,” she said tearfully.
Her Words: “ I remember when she told my mother that if she would just accept that she collected those things, she would do anything in her power to free my mother.
But my mother didn’t do anything. My mother told her that she would not accept what she didn’t do. She would not accept that kind of thing because, even when that looting took place, my mother was in court with her family for the weekend, I mean for the holiday. So she didn’t accept that kind of thing.
The madam told my mother that since she didn’t accept it, she would deal with her, that she would drop her in a place where there is no light, that we would only carry her dead body from that place.
