Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has opened up about the emotional toll of losing his wife and mother, describing grief as one of life’s most difficult experiences.

During an interview from 19:00 with Olive Emodi, the actor explained that although the intensity of grief may change over time, the pain does not completely disappear. He said memories and experiences can bring back the feelings associated with those he has lost.

RMD also spoke about his relationship with his mother, revealing that he was her only child. He noted that this made their bond particularly close and gave a sense of how deeply her loss affected him.

Reflecting on his personal experiences with bereavement, the actor said, “I have lost a wife, I have lost a mother. Loss is very difficult to deal with and the pain never goes away. What happens is the pain transitions or morphs into different things, it depends on what recalls them and it depends on what the affinity is. For my mother for instance, I am an only child so it gives you an idea of our closeness”
