Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, shared his personal take on marriage during an episode of the “MIC ON PODCAST.”
Reflecting on his marriage nearly 20 years ago in Abuja, Isaac revealed that it lasted only eleven months. According to him, He and his wife agreed to separate, which he saw as essential for their happiness. After the split, he quickly started dating again.
Isaac said that when his divorce was finalized two years later, he remarried just two days after. He stressed that he doesn’t believe in waiting around for others when it comes to his happiness. According to him, relationships are social contracts, meaning both people should focus on their well-being.
Isaac stated,
“I was married here in Abuja 18 to 20 years ago. Eleven months later, my wife said she didn’t want me anymore, me too I also said I didn’t want her anymore. I started dating someone else. Two years later, the court say ‘divorce’, and two days after that, I went to marry another woman. I can’t wait for nobody; I only have one life to live. So why do I have to keep my life hanging for others? Relationship and marriage are social contracts.
