Nigerian actor, writer, and filmmaker Samuel Ajirebi has revealed that his parents were in control of all the money he earned as a child actor.

Speaking in an interview on Oyinmomo TV’s official YouTube channel, Ajirebi explained that his parents never allowed him to have direct access to the money he made while acting at a young age.

He noted that this decision was meant to ensure he remained disciplined and focused on his future rather than being carried away by temporary success.

“My parents were the ones who collected all the money I made while I was acting as a child. You don’t expect them to give that kind of money to a child who was not even up to 12 years old at the time. Spoiling a child like that wouldn’t make me think about the future because I would have been living in the moment, enjoying life while forgetting that there is a future ahead.”

Ajirebi expressed gratitude for the way his parents handled his earnings. Rather than spending the money carelessly or allowing him to misuse it, they made sure to invest in his education and that of his siblings.

“I am glad for the kind of parents I have. They made good use of the money, investing it wisely in me and my siblings. As you can see, I am now a certified lawyer, and I wouldn’t have been able to achieve it without the financial support from my parents.”

The actor acknowledged that if he had been given direct access to his earnings as a child, he might have become distracted and failed to plan for the future. His parents’ decision ensured that he remained focused on his studies and personal growth rather than being carried away by temporary fame and wealth.
