For centuries, Christians have wondered what happened to Moses after he passed away. Unfortunately, many haven’t found the answers they’re looking for because they haven’t read the Bible closely enough. Today, we’re going to explore what happened to Moses after his death and who buried him.
According to Deuteronomy 34:1-7, God took Moses to the top of Mount Nebo and Mount Pisgah, where He showed him the entire land of Canaan. God reminded Moses that this was the land He had promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But then, God told Moses that he couldn’t enter the land.
The Bible says that Moses died in Moab, just as the Lord had said. But here’s the interesting part: God sent His angels to bury Moses in a secret location in Moab. Why was it a secret? Because the Israelites had a tendency to turn their leaders into idols, and God didn’t want that to happen to Moses’ body.
So, Moses was buried in a hidden location, and no one in Israel knew where his grave was. This might seem strange to us today, but it was an important step in preventing the Israelites from worshiping Moses instead of God.
