‎According to a report by Vanguard, on Wednesday July 8, 2026, a former ally of African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Aslam Aliyu, has declared her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, insisting that there is no vacancy in the Presidential Villa.

‎Aliyu made the statement while announcing her resignation from the ADC and her decision to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), speaking on the future of Nigeria’s political leadership, she expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term in office and remain president beyond 2027.

‎According to her, the chances of any opposition candidate taking over the Presidency in the next election are slim, she maintained that Tinubu enjoys significant political support and is well-positioned to seek re-election when Nigerians return to the polls.

‎Aliyu stated that her confidence in the president’s chances is based on her assessment of the current political environment and the strength of the APC across the country, she added that she believes the ruling party will remain the dominant force in Nigerian politics in the coming years.
