Senator Shehu Sani, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party and former Kaduna lawmaker, has reacted after the Minister of Defense, Bello Matawalle, confronted the governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, to affirm the Holy Quran.

According to Daily Trust, Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defense and former governor of Zamfara State, has come out swinging against accusations of involvement with banditry. In a bold move, he’s challenging his critics, including Governor Dauda Lawal and General Ali Gusau, to swear on the Holy Quran that they have no connection to banditry.

Matawalle claims he’s the only governor who has taken this oath, stating, “I swore that if I am happy or if I am collaborating with them, God should not give me one-second grace.”

Bello Matawalle was quoted as saying that:

“I was the only governor that swore to the Holy Quran that I have no hand or connection with banditry, or I am not happy with what is happening. I swore that if I am happy or if I am collaborating with them, God should not give me one-second grace. I challenged all the politicians, including General Ali Gusau and Dauda Lawal, to do the same. None of them could take the oath, and if they don’t take the oath, that means they are part of it.”.

However, Senator Shehu Sani has now reacted to the statement from the Defense Minister. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, he said it is time to call Sheikh Gumi to rule on the matter.

Here is what Sani wrote on his Official X page:

“Zamfara Governor accused the minister of association with bandits, and the minister accused the governor of collusion with bandits and challenged him to provide proof and swear. It’s time to call our Sheikh Gumi to rule on this matter.”….Sêe _ Morê
