A Nigerian Senior lawyer and the counsel to the Labour Party, LP, Dr Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, has reacted to the reintroduction of the country’s old National Anthem, Nigeria We Hail Thee.

While reacting, Dr Uzoukwu noted that it is very intriguing and horrific, that in the re-adopted Nigerian National Anthem, is the lyric “Where no man is oppressed,” noting that it should be amended to read, “where no person is oppressed.”

Speaking further, he noted that the perpetuation of contempt and discrimination against women will continue, if the lyric is not amended. He went on and made it known that the portion of the national anthem is offensive.

The senior lawyer made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Sunday afternoon.
