In a gesture of solidarity, the Embassy of Israel in Nigeria has donated 10 portable industrial water purifying machines to the government of Borno, aimed at assisting victims of recent floods in the state.

According to Vanguard, The donation took place on Friday in Abuja and was part of MASHAV, Israel’s humanitarian aid initiative, which focuses on international cooperation to address shared global challenges.

Israel’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, emphasized that this support was meant to help those affected by the flooding. He stated, “As a close friend of Nigeria, Israel aims to assist those most in need. We have witnessed the devastating human impact of natural disasters.”

Freeman explained that the donated machines utilize advanced Israeli technology to purify contaminated water, making it safe for drinking. He highlighted their portability, noting that they do not require an external power source, making them ideal for areas where displaced communities are at risk of cholera and other diseases.

“Our hope is that this donation will significantly improve the health and well-being of those affected,” he added.

The ambassador also mentioned ongoing preparations to celebrate the Jewish New Year and reiterated Israel’s commitment to standing by Nigeria and its people. “We look forward to collaborating on various projects that will benefit both nations,” he concluded.
