In a recent interview with Arise Television from 7.42, Chizy Enyi shared his concerns about how the political situation in Rivers State is being handled. He spoke about the actions of the Sole Administrator, Mr. Ibas, who is supposed to help bring peace between political leaders Nyesom Wike and Governor Sim Fubara.

Chizy said that since Ibas took office, he hasn’t called for any political meetings to settle the issues between Wike and Fubara. Instead, he has been suspending political appointees and talking about appointing new administrators for local governments. According to Chizy, most of the people being considered for these roles are loyal to Wike.

He pointed out that when Wike returned to Port Harcourt, many names were listed for political appointments, and most of them are Wike’s supporters. Chizy believes that if the new local government administrators are mainly Wike’s loyalists, then it shows that the Sole Administrator might not truly be interested in making peace.

Chizy admits that while the Administrator has not yet done anything openly biased, the choices being made suggest a deeper political plan. He added that even though many know the Administrator was chosen by people who support Wike, citizens have no choice but to stay peaceful and obey the law.

In his words, “If Ibas is appointing known people who are Wike’s supporters, it means they have something in mind. We have no option but to be law-abiding and not take the law into our own hands.”
