According to a video from 08:02 posted on CBN News on Wednesday July 15, 2026, CBN Middle East correspondent Julie Stahl said many in Israel view President Donald Trump as the one leader capable of resolving the region’s deepest security threats, short of divine intervention.
Stahl offered the assessment while discussing the outlook for peace amid ongoing US strikes against Iran.
Stahl said hope for lasting change in the Middle East depends heavily on whether Iran undergoes some form of internal transformation, and whether funding to groups like Hamas and Hezbollah is cut off.
Without those shifts, she said, any calm achieved now would likely be temporary rather than permanent.
In her words, Julie Stahl said, “Without a regime change in Iran and stopping the funding to Hamas and Hezbollah, there’s probably not much hope that things are going to change in the Middle East.
“Maybe temporarily, but really there needs to be a change. And I think Israel believes that if anyone can finish the job, besides God, it would be Trump,” she said.
Stahl connected this sentiment to President Trump’s recent posture toward Iran, including his pledge to continue striking military targets and his warning that attacks could expand to power plants and bridges if Tehran does not return to negotiations.
