Political commentator Henry Shield has criticised the APC-led government, claiming Nigerians are dissatisfied with its performance as the country approaches next year’s presidential election.

Speaking from 44:32 on SYMFONI TV, Shield said the administration had made life difficult for Nigerians over the past three and a half years. He also dismissed the distribution of ₦50,000 to citizens, describing it as an attempt to sway voters that would not change their opinion of the government.

Shield pointed to what he described as public anger during two APC campaign events, citing a video from Kaduna in which, he alleged, people threw stones at an APC governor while he was on stage.

He also argued that President Bola Tinubu had an opportunity to become Nigeria’s best president, given what Shield described as the absence of significant opposition or resistance from the National Assembly. However, he said the president had failed to make good use of that opportunity.

Recalling the footage from Kaduna, Shield said, “Have you seen how Nigerians have treated them in their two campaigns? In Kaduna, there was even one; I was watching the video, I need to go and check to see that it’s not AI. They were stoning the APC governor on stage.”
