In a recent video on YouTube, renowned preacher and founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, recently shared a profound lesson on the importance of depending on God rather than people. Speaking to his congregation, he recounted a personal experience that reinforced his belief in God’s provision.

Pastor Ibiyeomie shared the story of a wealthy politician who had once requested to meet with him. When the politician arrived, he brought a significant financial gift for the church but gave the pastor a relatively small personal offering. “Initially, I felt disappointed,” Pastor Ibiyeomie admitted. “But God used that moment to teach me a vital lesson: Depend on Him, not on people.”

He continued by revealing what happened afterward. “Not long after the politician left, someone else—who wasn’t wealthy or prominent—came to see me and gave me an amount 500 times what the politician gave,” he said. The experience, he explained, was a divine reminder that true provision comes from God, not human sources.

Pastor Ibiyeomie emphasized that believers must learn to place their trust fully in God, even when situations seem discouraging. “People may disappoint you, but God never will,” he told the congregation. “When you focus on God, He will use unexpected sources to bless you beyond your imagination.”

According to him, “I’ll share a story to illustrate this. A wealthy politician once said he wanted to see me and bring something. When he came, he brought a big sum—but it was for the church. For me personally, he gave a small amount. I felt disappointed initially, but God taught me a lesson: Depend on Him, not on people.”
