Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has declared that faith is more powerful than financial resources when it comes to achieving success in life.
In a recent message shared via YouTube, the respected cleric emphasized that true faith can open doors to shelter, food, education, and more — even in the absence of wealth.
“We have not given you houses or buildings, but we have given you faith,” Kumuyi said. “Faith will get you shelter. Faith will get you food. Faith will send your children to universities — whether Anchor or any other.”
The sermon, anchored on John 17, explored how Jesus equipped His disciples not with money, but with the Word and faith. “When He gave them the word, they received it and believed it,” Kumuyi explained, pointing to verses where Jesus affirmed the disciples’ acceptance of His teachings.
For Kumuyi, faith is not abstract; it is practical and result-oriented. He cited examples from the early days of Deeper Life, noting how faith has transformed the lives of church members. “Some of them may not be overseers, but God has built houses for them. Their children have studied abroad. They are married now and have grandchildren.”
The seasoned preacher stressed that the most vital inheritance a believer can receive is faith — not wealth. “We must concentrate on the most important thing,” he advised. “Faith, more than finance, will take care of your needs.”
Kumuyi’s message comes at a time when many Nigerians face economic hardship, and his emphasis on faith over finances offered hope and reassurance to his followers.
His teaching concluded with a prophetic encouragement: that believers who truly trust God, obey His word, and remain steadfast will experience divine provision beyond their expectations.
