According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, April 27, 2026, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress has responded to recent remarks by President Bola Tinubu regarding the challenges facing Nigeria’s electricity sector.

The party member, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, expressed disagreement with the President’s position that the current condition of the power sector is largely the result of decisions made by past administrations.

The response was issued in a statement released on Monday, adding to ongoing public discussion about the country’s energy situation and the responsibilities of the present government.

Eze referred to commitments made by Tinubu ahead of the 2023 general elections, when the President outlined plans to address persistent electricity issues across the country.

He noted that these commitments were part of broader promises aimed at improving infrastructure and supporting economic growth.

The ADC chieftain indicated that the recent comments attributed to the President did not align with those earlier assurances, particularly in light of expectations that the current administration would introduce effective solutions to longstanding problems within the power sector.

The statement also raised concerns about the level of progress recorded since the beginning of Tinubu’s administration.

Eze pointed to government spending in recent years, noting that significant financial resources had been allocated to the power sector.

He suggested that despite these allocations, many Nigerians have not experienced noticeable improvement in electricity supply.

The situation, he added, has continued to affect daily life, business activities, and public confidence in efforts to stabilize the energy system.

In addition, Eze highlighted the impact of the situation on workers within the electricity sector.

He stated that some employees face challenges in carrying out their duties, particularly as frustrations among electricity users increase.

According to him, there are growing concerns about the safety of these workers, as some members of the public associate the lack of stable power supply with their roles.

This, he said, has created a tense environment for individuals working within the industry.

He said, “Based on his demand that he be voted out if he fails to address the electricity problem in Nigeria, I therefore urge Nigerians to obey Tinubu’s wish by voting him out of power.”…Read_More…
