Sahara Reporters reports that the Kwara State Police Command has confirmed that suspects linked to the murder of Miss Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old student of Kwara State College of Health Technology, have been arrested.

The female student’s corpse was found in a refuse dump near the Aleniboro area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The report said Mojisola’s roommate, Miss Blessing O, reported that the 21-year-old lady had been missing since August 9, 2024.

The Kwara Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the suspect’s arrest in a statement on Tuesday.

Giving details about the incidence, she said that one Miss Timileyin called the deceased on the phone on August 9, 2024, to inform her about an event by students of Summit University, Offa, and Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.

She then introduced the deceased to one Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student of Summit University. Happiness allegedly invited the deceased to accompany him to a night party. She was to act as his girlfriend for the night for a fee of N15,000.

The PPRO continued, saying:

“However, the late Mojisola had informed her roommate, one Miss Blessing O, that she felt uncomfortable in the hotel she was lodged in by Adebayo Happiness and noted that there was no party at the said location.

“Shortly after this communication her phone was switched off and all subsequent efforts by Miss Blessing to reach her were unsuccessful.”

Unfortunately for Mojisola, she never made it back home from the outing as labourers discovered her lifeless body in a refuse dump on August 11

The labourers brought the issue to one Mr. Olorunoje, who promptly reported it to the police.

Concerning the investigation, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi said:

“In light of these developments, the Kwara State Police Command has arrested suspects in connection with the case. Investigation is ongoing, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further discreet investigation.”….VìêwMorê
