Nigerian singer and activist, Charly Boy, has shared his thoughts on the colour of the newly refined petrol from Aliko Dangote’s refinery.
In a recent post on his X page, Charly Boy revealed that the petrol’s clear color is due to the use of ethanol, making it a superior quality fuel. He explained that petrol colours indicate different additives, with red indicating octane has been added, green signifying high octane content, yellow meaning it’s unleaded, and clear showing that ethanol was used.
Charly Boy noted that ethanol improves engine efficiency and power while reducing air pollution by decreasing carbon dioxide emissions. He praised Dangote’s refinery for producing high-quality fuel, calling it the best form of petrol.
In his words;
“Reason why the pms Is pure like water. Petrol has different colors, When it’s Red that means Octane was added. When it’s slightly Green then Octane is slightly very much. When is Yellow it means it has no lead in it. That means it’s unleaded. But when it’s clear as water as seen in the video then you should know that ethanol was used . What ethanol does is that it improves engine efficiency and power.
“Because ethanol has a good amount of oxygen it lessens the amount of carbonation in engines there by reducing air pollution which comes as Carbon dioxide. So this is the best form of Petrol”….Check – Morê
