Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy has reacted after the former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi said Nigerians should be protesting high cost of living.

In a report that was posted by DAILY POST, the former governor of Rivers state said he is angry that Nigerians are not doing anything concerning the hardship in the country.

He was quoted as saying;

“People should be angry because you cannot see a group of people stealing your money without doing anything. I am really angry with the citizens because they are not doing anything. Look at what happened in Edo State, should any politician be campaigning in Edo State?”.

However, Bayo Onanuga has now reacted to the statement. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Friday, he said the comment that was made by the former governor of Rivers state is insensitive and unpatriotic.

Here is what Bayo Onanuga wrote on his page;

“Amaechi’s comments are insensitive and unpatriotic. Coming from one of Nigeria’s longest serving and highest ranking political freeloaders – a two-term Speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly, a two-term Governor, and a two-term Minister of Transport”.
