Honourable Solomon Bob, a member of the House of Representatives, has alleged that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike took Governor Siminalayi Fubara from obscurity, and that it was Wike who gave him a name and helped him become the governor of the state. He questioned how Governor Fubara could now boast about having a name, seemingly forgetting the efforts and sacrifices Wike made on his behalf.

He lamented that he has never seen a situation where a successor consistently speaks ill of a predecessor in such derogatory terms, as Governor Fubara has been doing to Wike. He highlighted that Fubara recently made a comment that all those who opposed him, including his predecessor Wike, are “empty” and lack integrity. He found this statement particularly troubling, given the history between the two individuals. He argued that the governor should show more respect and gratitude towards his predecessor, Wike, who played a significant role in his political journey.

He said in an interview with TVC from 11:30, ‘In my entire time in politics, I have witnessed predecessors having a hard time with their successors. I have never seen in my entire life a situation where a successor goes so low every time to talk down in unimaginable terms to a predecessor the way Governor Fubara is doing to Wike. He made a comment recently that all of us who opposed him are empty, including his predecessor.

He said all of us don’t have integrity, including his predecessor. The man took him from obscurity; whoever heard of Siminalayi Fubara in his life? Whoever heard of him from his small village in Opobo? Wike took him from obscurity and gave him a name. Now he is boasting that he has a name. I know the effort and the sacrifices Wike went through to make this man governor of the state.”
