According to a video from 01:15:15 posted on Fox News, on Monday July 6, 2026, President Trump addressed the upcoming World Cup match between the United States and Belgium, saying a Belgian victory would be respected if both teams played with full rosters.

He also suggested that any loss involving a missing player could be viewed differently, drawing a comparison to his past claims about the 2020 election.

The president made the remarks while wrapping up a lengthy press availability at the White House, where he had spent much of the session discussing the reversal of a red card given to a player following a collision in a previous match.

In his words, President Trump said, “And on behalf of all Americans, thank you for getting rid of that ridiculous red card. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much. The Trump accounts are good. Thank you.”

Earlier in the same exchange, he added, “The other way, if they beat us, we’ll say it was rigged, just like the election was rigged in 2020. But I won’t get into that.”

He said the reversal allowed both the American and Belgian teams to field their strongest available players, which he described as the fairest possible outcome regardless of the final score.

The president said he believed the original red card was the result of a poor officiating decision rather than any wrongdoing by the player involved.

The comments closed out a press conference that also touched on Iran, cryptocurrency, and the national economy, following the ceremonial launch of the Trump Accounts children’s savings program earlier that day….See More
