In a candid interview on Channels TV from 9:16, a former Peoples Democratic Party National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan called for a resolution to the ongoing crisis within the party through the prioritization of peace, justice, and unity.

He asserted that the acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, must return to his previous role as Deputy National Chairman to allow for a representative from the North Central region to assume the National Chairman position.

Ologbondiyan emphasized that Damagum’s refusal to step down and address his alleged misconduct impedes the reconciliation process.

He urged the PDP reconciliation committee, led by Olagunsoye Oyinlola, to demonstrate courage and speak truth to power in confronting Damagum’s actions.

Ologbondiyan’s statement highlights the importance of addressing internal conflicts within the PDP in a manner that promotes fairness and unity among its members.

According to Kola Ologbondiyan, “What’s important to Nigerians now, particularly to members of this party, who are desirons of a change, who needs a new government in 2027, and who want to be a ble to unite to plan the process is that , let us have peace, let us have justice. How can he (Damagun) be sitting on another man’s chair and say that he is reconciling? He himself needs to be reconciled first. He needs to agree to the wrongness of his action and allow the North Central into power.”
