According to a report by TheCable on Saturday, 4 July, 2026, Gloria Inyanugbo, a kidnap victim, has narrated how she was abducted while working on her farm and held captive for four days until her family secured her release with millions of naira in ransom and other items demanded by her captors.

Inyanugbo shared her experience while speaking after the arrest of suspected members of the kidnapping gang, expressing relief that some of the men she believed would never be caught had eventually been apprehended by security operatives.

“I was kidnapped on January 12 while working on the farm,” she said.

According to her, the kidnappers immediately demanded to know how much money she had in her bank account after dragging her deep into the bush. She said the gang held her for four days while negotiations continued with her family.

“They asked how much I had in my account after taking me into the bush. I spent four days there until my husband raised N3 million and another N300,000 to buy hard drugs, food and other items,” she said.

The victim said the traumatic experience left her fearing for her life, adding that she never believed those responsible would one day face justice.

She commended the efforts of local vigilantes and the police, revealing that the breakthrough came after community members apprehended two suspects in the bush before law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested others linked to the crime.

“The community vigilante arrested two of them in the bush, while the police tracked and arrested others. I saw one of them who kept boasting that nobody could do anything to him. I never imagined the police would eventually arrest them,” Inyanugbo added.
