In a candid interview on Channels TV from 17:20, former Kano State Commissioner for Works, Muzau Magaji, examined Northern Nigeria’s political influence over the past 50 years and questioned the region’s progress despite its long-standing control of national power.

He highlighted the disparity between the North’s dominance in politics and its underperformance in various socio-economic metrics.

Magaji’s remarks call for a critical evaluation of the region’s political leadership and its impact on the well-being of its citizens, questioning the effectiveness of power and governance in addressing Northern Nigeria’s development challenges.

In his words, he said, “There is a major shift in the political perception of institutions in Northern Nigeria and their level of influence. For the past 50 years that the North has been managing and controlling the power of this country, we have been asking ourselves as a generation, that what was the purpose of power. Why is the North in power this long and our structure is the worst in every statistics?.”….VìêwMorê
