The former governor of Anambra state and Labour Party, LP candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi has reacted after Nigeria failed to win a medal in the Paris Olympics 2024.
In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Sunday, he said Jamaica spent less and won 6 medals but Nigeria couldn’t win one medal.
Peter Obi said at least 9 African countries won gold but the giant of Africa failed to win even a bronze medal.
Here is what Peter Obi wrote on his page;
“How can one explain that a country like Jamaica spent less than 5% of what we spent on our contingents for the Paris Olympics 2024 and won as many as 6 medals. Yet with our huge financial investments and large contingent, we could not win even a single medal. At least nine African countries won gold but the giant with over 200m people came home without even a bronze!”….Viēw – Morē
