A witness has recounted a terrifying experience during an alleged politically motivated attack in Osun State, claiming he was shot three times in the back but survived the incident with bruises.

According to a report by Arise News from 3:58, the witness shared his account while describing the growing insecurity and political violence allegedly taking place ahead of local elections in the state.

Speaking during the broadcast, he said: “They shot me three times at my back, but the bullet did not penetrate, it only bruised my back.”

The man reportedly displayed the bruises sustained from the gunshots as evidence of the attack. He also showed bullet holes allegedly found inside his house, claiming the assailants targeted both him and his property.

The testimony was presented during a broader discussion surrounding violent clashes and attacks allegedly linked to political tensions in Osun State.

In the same report, Tolulope, the widow of an Accord Party youth leader who was allegedly killed in Ede, narrated how her husband was attacked by armed men after he was reportedly lured to a location for a meeting.

According to her account, several armed men arrived in a Sienna bus and opened fire on her husband. She alleged that after the initial gunshot failed to penetrate, a man identified as Fakunle Oladapo removed a bag hanging around the victim’s neck before the attackers fired again and later attacked him with machetes.

She claimed her husband died from the injuries before reaching the hospital.

The report further stated that a formal complaint had been lodged with the police, while residents continue to express concerns over safety and political intimidation in the area ahead of the elections.
