According to a report by the Punch News on Monday, 25 May, 2026, Qawiyu Oloyede, a tailor and a resident of Sokoto Road, Atan-Ota, has revealed that he created a fake bandit attack and posted it on social media to gain followers.
During interrogation by the Ogun State Police, Qawiyu Oloyede stated that the Fulani man in the video was a herder who regularly grazed cattle behind his shop. He added that the herder did not want to take part in the act.
Qawiyu Oloyede said, “I created the fake bandit attack and posted it on social media to gain followers.”
Qawiyu Oloyede also said he is illiterate and never attended school. He explained that his apprentice wrote the message that accompanied the video. He confessed to making only two such videos and posting them on social media.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that Oloyede was arrested and his case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department….Read_More…
