Farooq Kperogi, a Nigerian-American professor and public affairs analyst, has reacted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of retired Major General Adeyinka A. Famadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security.

Speaking during an interview from 19:18 on MIC ON PODCAST on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Kperogi alleged that the Tinubu administration has continued to favor the South-West in the allocation of major political appointments.

According to him, President Tinubu appears committed to ensuring that the South-West benefits significantly from his administration, despite criticisms surrounding the perceived regional imbalance in key government positions.

Kperogi maintained that the pattern of appointments under the current administration reflects what he described as Tinubu’s belief that it is the South-West’s turn to lead and benefit politically.

Here’s what he said,

“There’s one thing that defines the Bola Tinubu administration, about which he is not apologetic. It is his insistence that it is the turn of the South-West, and that every major appointment is going to be made to benefit the South-West. I don’t think he apologized for this. I don’t think they even defend that reality.”….Read_More…
