According to a report by Sahara Reporters on Friday, May 22, 2026, Festus Ogundairo, Chairman of the Hunters’ Association in Odeda Local Government Area, Ogun State, said bandits had allegedly sent letters threatening to kidnap schoolchildren.
Ogundairo said insecurity isn’t limited to Odeda, but the situation there is especially worrying. He said a man was kidnapped near the area beyond the secondary school. The man, who managed a filling station nearby, was abducted around 7 p.m. and later released after a ransom was paid.
He said, “What is becoming more disturbing is what we are seeing on social media platforms, reports that bandits have sent letters threatening to come and kidnap schoolchildren.”
He also said security personnel have begun working to prevent such attacks and urged the Ogun State government and security agencies to equip and support local hunters with logistics, arguing that they know the terrain better than outsiders….Read_More…
