According to a video from 17:20 posted on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Monday, May 18, 2026, Legal Team Lead of the Obidient Movement, Vincent Otakpupu, shared an emotional experience he recently had in church while speaking about the growing support for former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
During an interview focused on the future of the NDC and preparations for the 2027 elections, Otakpupu said the support for Obi cuts across different age groups and social classes. According to him, many Nigerians still believe Obi represents hope, accountability, and good governance despite the country’s political and economic challenges.
While explaining the level of public admiration Obi continues to receive, Otakpupu recalled an encounter that deeply touched him. He said, “I was in church when a little 8-year-old baby tapped me and said, ‘Tell Peter Obi not to worry, because God is with him.’”
He described the moment as a reflection of the emotional connection many Nigerians, including young people, have with Obi’s political movement.
