According to a report by Punch News on Monday, May 18, 2026, a resident of Oke Egan in the Ilogbo-Eremi, Badagry, who pleaded to remain anonymous revealed that Victoria Adegoke’s clothes were removed by suspected hoodlums who later strangled her and also took her phone. It was said that Victoria’s ATM card and Bible were found at the bush where she was dumped.
Narrating the incident, the resident said he knew the deceased. The deceased’s daughter lives abroad. She had gone to church and stayed there for some time because a programme was ongoing, which had ended a few days earlier. Afterward, she stayed with one of her siblings who lives near the church.
He added that the deceased was reportedly attacked around 6 a.m. while returning home. The suspected hoodlums stripped her of her clothes and underwear, strangled her, and took her phone. Her ATM card and Bible were later found at the scene. It was said that the police are aware of the incident and efforts are being made to arrest the suspects.
