According to a video posted on News Central TV on Thursday, May 14, 2026, Veteran Journalist and ADC Chieftain, Dele Momodu, spoke on the growing political discussions surrounding the 2027 presidential election and the future of opposition politics in Nigeria.

During the interview, Momodu addressed conversations about the political positions of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, within the opposition coalition. He suggested that both politicians had already distanced themselves from the ADC, despite earlier political engagements linked to the party.

Speaking on their chances and political decisions, Momodu said, “I’ll not say they can’t win. The important thing is that they have already removed themselves from the ADC.”

He explained that democracy remains a game of numbers, structure, and political strategy, adding that every aspirant still has the constitutional right to contest for the presidency. The ADC chieftain also emphasized that competence and political experience should remain key factors in choosing leaders ahead of the next general election.
