In a recent interview from 20:34 on Arise TV, Nigerian lawyer and public policy analyst Chris Nwokobia spoke on opposition unity, coalition-building, and the political calculations shaping the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.

During the interview, Nwokobia stated, “Obi, Atiku, Amaechi, Sowore and others with presidential ambition must unite to defeat BAT.” He made the remark while stressing the need for a single, coordinated opposition front capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress.

He referenced Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Omoyele Sowore, arguing that the strength of the opposition depends on whether these key figures can set aside individual ambitions and work under a unified political structure.

Nwokobia explained that Nigeria’s opposition landscape remains highly fragmented, with multiple presidential hopefuls operating across different platforms rather than consolidating into one strategic bloc.

Nwokobia maintained that political history in Nigeria shows that divided opposition forces rarely succeed against incumbents, especially when votes are split among multiple strong candidates.

He further stated that unity among opposition leaders is not optional but necessary if they intend to alter the current political balance in the country.

Nwokobia concluded by warning that unless the opposition achieves meaningful consolidation before 2027, the ruling All Progressives Congress may once again benefit from a divided political field….Read_More…
