In a recent interview with Channels Television From 13:05, Laolu Akande, a former presidential aide, criticized Senator Ali Ndume for his selective outrage over issues in the All Progressives Congress (APC). Akande accused Ndume of only speaking out when his personal interests are affected, rather than addressing the party’s internal issues.

Akande questioned the party’s lack of transparency, stating, “You don’t even have the organs of the party holding meetings. When last did any of the parties hold their NEC?” He specifically highlighted the APC’s failure to convene its National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, suggesting a lack of internal democracy.

Akande also alleged that Ndume and other party members only raise important issues when they are personally affronted, rather than working to address the party’s systemic problems. He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability within the party, saying, “It’s important to say this, so that people know what game is going on.”

This interview comes amidst rumors of infighting within the APC, with Ndume recently speaking out against the party’s leadership and removed from his position as Chief Whip of the Senate.

“You don’t even have the organs of the party holding meetings. When last did any of the parties held their NEC? We even understand that in APC, the NWC members didn’t even know what is going on. Now, Ndume is not happy and then the next place to go is the Press. But they raised these important issues only when they’re not benefiting.
